25 September 2026

The Cyprus Tax Department has confirmed the procedure available to individuals who identify an error in their 2025 Income Tax Return after it has already been submitted as final.

Can a final 2025 tax return be corrected?

Yes. Within the applicable filing deadline, the return can be restored to temporary status, corrected and then submitted again as a final return.

How the correction works

1. Open “View (Declaration History)” in TAXISnet, select the relevant declaration number and choose “Change to Temporary”.

2. Make the necessary amendments, select “Submission (Completion of Declaration)” and proceed again with “Final Submission”.

3. Check that the declaration appears with the status “SUBMITTED”.

Deadline for the 2025 Income Tax Return

The Cyprus Tax Department currently states 31 October 2026 as the filing deadline for the 2025 Income Tax Return for individuals. The online correction mechanism should therefore be considered in the context of the applicable filing deadline.

Why this matters

An error discovered after final submission should not simply be ignored. Taxpayers should review the relevant figures and supporting information carefully and, where necessary, obtain appropriate tax advice before resubmitting.

Cyprus Law Chambers can assist clients in reviewing their Cyprus tax position and, where appropriate, coordinate with our associated tax professionals regarding the preparation or correction of their tax return.
