This guide is general information only. It does not determine an individual route or create a lawyer-client relationship.

The 30-second answer
Relocating to Cyprus is not one application. The correct plan depends on where you are moving from, every nationality you hold, your present tax residence, who is moving with you and whether the move concerns employment, a business, employees or intellectual property.
Use this page as the starting point for the right country guide and legal route. The linked specialist guides contain the detailed requirements.
Choose where you are moving from
The first axis is the country of departure. Use a published country guide where one is available. Where no country guide is yet published, begin with the route selector and obtain departure-country advice where required.
Country of departure is not the same as nationality. A non-EU national residing in Germany, an Italian citizen with a non-EU spouse and a dual British-German national may require different Cyprus workstreams.

90–60 days before moving
Confirm the Cyprus route, identify departure-country tax and social-insurance issues, prepare civil-status and professional documents, and decide whether housing will be rented or purchased.
60–30 days before moving
Complete document certification, translations and apostilles where required; organise accommodation, insurance, schools, removals, pets and banking/KYC evidence.
First 30 days in Cyprus
Stabilise the address and employment or business position, preserve travel-day evidence, activate utilities and begin the correct residence, tax, payroll or social-insurance workstreams.
By month four and during the first tax year
Complete any applicable EU residence registration or other permit process within the relevant deadline, monitor Cyprus day counts and finalise the first-year tax, company, employment and estate-planning position.
What Cyprus offers beyond tax
The decision should not be reduced to a tax rate. Families and businesses should assess housing, schools, healthcare, transport, language, climate, connectivity, professional infrastructure, time zones and the practical differences between Paphos, Limassol, Nicosia and Larnaca.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy property before moving?
Not generally as a universal requirement. The residence route, nationality, family position and intended activity must be identified first. Renting can provide flexibility while the legal and practical position is established.
Can I keep my foreign job or company?
Possibly, but the employment, payroll, social-insurance, company-management, permanent-establishment and tax-residence effects must be assessed before the arrangement is treated as safe.
Can Cyprus Law Chambers handle my departure-country tax advice?
The firm coordinates the Cyprus side and identifies the foreign-law questions. Advice on the law and filings of another country should be given by an appropriately qualified adviser in that jurisdiction.

Tell us where you currently live, the passport or passports you hold, who is moving and whether the relocation involves employment, a business, employees or intellectual property.
Cyprus Law Chambers will identify the likely Cyprus workstreams, the documents to organise and the matters that may require a separate specialist adviser in the country of departure. The preliminary route-and-scope review is complimentary and without commitment; formal advice begins only after conflicts, KYC and engagement have been completed.
