Cyprus immigration lawyers in Paphos for residence and relocation

Our English-speaking immigration lawyers in Paphos help individuals, families and businesses assess Cyprus residence and work routes, prepare documents and coordinate applications. Nationality, purpose of stay, income, employment, family, accommodation and timing all matter. We identify the appropriate lawful route before building the document pack.

A property purchase does not create residence by itself. A Cyprus company does not automatically give its owner a work right. A visitor permit does not quietly become permission to work online.

Last reviewed: 1 August 2026. Criteria, document lists and filing procedures can change. We check the live official position before submission.

Who needs a Cyprus immigration lawyer?

This service is for EU, EEA and Swiss nationals, UK and other third-country nationals, families, employees, employers, founders, remote workers, retirees and property buyers who need to identify the correct Cyprus residence or work route. The answer depends on the person’s facts and intended activity, not on one document or investment alone.

Cyprus immigration law: residence and work routes

EU, EEA and Swiss citizens: Yellow Slip (MEU1)

For residence beyond three months, the person needs a qualifying basis such as work, self-employment, study or sufficient resources with comprehensive health cover. The MEU1 application deadline is within four months of arrival. Read the Cyprus Yellow Slip guide.

Cyprus Pink Slip for third-country visitors

The visitor route is for eligible third-country nationals who can support themselves without economic activity in Cyprus. Income, accommodation, insurance, Cyprus bank activity, lawful stay and absence rules matter. Read the Cyprus Pink Slip guide.

Remote work: Digital Nomad residence

This route is for genuine remote work for an employer abroad or clients outside Cyprus. The published stable net-income test is €3,500 per month, increased for family. It does not authorise local employment. Read the Cyprus Digital Nomad guide.

Cyprus work permits, EU Blue Card and business immigration routes

The EU Blue Card and foreign-interest-company framework have separate employer, salary, qualification, sector and registration requirements. Incorporating a Cyprus company is not enough. Review the EU Blue Card guide and the foreign-interest company and Business Facilitation Unit guide.

Permanent residence from foreign income: Category F

Category F is for a person who can live from secure income available from abroad without carrying on a business, trade or profession in Cyprus. It has no fixed €300,000 investment requirement and is not a work permit. Read the Category F permanent residence guide.

Cyprus permanent residence by investment: Regulation 6(2)

The accelerated permanent-residence route requires at least €300,000 in a qualifying investment category, secure annual income, source-of-funds evidence, health cover, clean records and continuing compliance. Read the Cyprus permanent residence by investment guide.

Citizenship by naturalisation

Naturalisation depends on exact legal-residence periods, the final continuous 12 months, Greek language, knowledge of Cyprus, good character and stable resources. Cyprus stopped accepting new citizenship-by-investment applications on 1 November 2020. Read the Cyprus citizenship by naturalisation guide.

What our Cyprus immigration lawyers check before an application

We check nationality, lawful entry, present status, work rights, income and source of funds, accommodation, health cover, criminal records, family evidence, biometrics, document validity, Apostille or legalisation, official translation, renewal rules and the effect of absences. A correct document obtained too early can expire before the appointment.

How we handle Cyprus immigration paperwork from Paphos

From our Paphos office, we assess the appropriate route, prepare a route-specific document plan, check certification, translation and expiry requirements, prepare the filing and handle authority correspondence where instructed. Many preparation steps can be completed remotely; attendance or original documents may still be required for the chosen route.

Request a complimentary 20-minute initial call with a Cyprus lawyer. The call is introductory and helps us understand the matter and explain the next appropriate step. It is subject to availability, conflict, identity and engagement checks and does not constitute legal advice.

Personal advice, care and responsible oversight

As a boutique Cyprus firm, we provide personal attention and a named point of contact. A client’s matter is not treated as an anonymous file or left to an unsupported junior review. We agree the scope, understand the client’s objective, identify the documents and risks, and maintain appropriate lawyer oversight while the wider team supports preparation, communication and follow-through.

Cyprus advice for international and cross-border plans

Our expertise is Cyprus law, applied to clients whose lives and businesses often cross borders. We help coordinate the Cyprus aspects of relocation, immigration and residence, property, company and commercial arrangements, employment, tax registration, wills and estates, and disputes. Where another country’s law is decisive, we explain that boundary and can work with the client’s existing overseas adviser or suitable independent foreign counsel. This gives the client coordinated Cyprus support without pretending that one firm practises every law across the EU.

The practical benefit for the client

The client receives a clear route, a tailored document list, an explanation of material risks in plain English, defined responsibilities and practical next steps. Personal care means accessibility and continuity; it does not mean vague promises. Progress is measured through agreed milestones such as review completed, documents outstanding, filing or signing stage, third-party response and the next action required.

Tell us the countries involved, the result you need, any deadline and the documents already available. We can then identify the Cyprus-law work, the connected services and whether input from another jurisdiction is required. Request a complimentary 20-minute introductory call, subject to availability, conflict, identity and engagement checks. Cyprus Law Chambers™ — Law Chambers Nicos Papacleovoulou LLC.

How we have helped clients in practice

The examples below summarise experiences described by clients in published Google reviews. They show the problems clients brought to us, the help they received and the practical value they found in the service.

A family relocation with linked residence routes

Sandra Robbitt reports that Maria was her principal contact, with support from Irene, for relocation, immigration and a house rental. She describes regular updates and same-day approval at the appointment for the family’s respective residence applications, around three months after relocating. The value was organised preparation and personal support through connected steps.

Turning an uncertain timetable into an organised plan

Magdalena Jasiunaite explains that another adviser considered her family’s proposed relocation timetable unrealistic. She says Evi first took time to understand the family’s work, circumstances and goals, after which Maria organised the process and remained responsive. The practical benefit described is advice built around the family, not a generic checklist.

Preparation and attendance at the immigration appointment

Josephine Davies reports that Maria organised the paperwork and attended her immigration appointment, after which she left with her MEU3 residence certificate. This demonstrates the service in practical terms: route review, document preparation, appointment support and clear next steps.

These are paraphrased summaries of individual public reviews, not independent case studies or promises of a similar result. Every matter depends on its own facts, documents, law, authorities and third-party decisions.

Official sources and legal note

Current residence criteria, forms and notices should be checked through the Cyprus Migration Department and citizenship requirements through the Cyprus Ministry of Interior. How do I choose an immigration lawyer in Cyprus?

Choose a Cyprus practising lawyer who identifies the correct residence or work route before assembling documents, explains the scope and fees, checks current official requirements, and distinguishes immigration permission from tax residence, employment rights and property ownership. Relevant experience, clear responsibility for the file and realistic advice matter more than promises of a particular result.

Who can help with Cyprus immigration paperwork from Paphos?

Cyprus Law Chambers provides immigration and residence legal services from Paphos for eligible individuals, families, employers and businesses. Assistance can include route assessment, document planning, application preparation, authority correspondence, renewals and review of delayed or refused files, subject to conflict, identity and engagement checks.

Can Cyprus Law Chambers assist international clients remotely?

Yes. Cyprus Law Chambers assists overseas clients with Cyprus property, immigration, corporate, commercial, family and estate matters where remote handling is legally and practically possible. The required steps depend on the matter and may include identity, conflict, authority, certification, translation and engagement checks.

What information should I prepare before consulting a Cyprus lawyer?

Prepare a short chronology, the parties’ names, relevant agreements or official documents, important deadlines, and the outcome you are seeking. Sensitive documents should only be provided after conflict, identity, confidentiality and engagement arrangements have been confirmed.

Questions to resolve before you instruct us

Which Cyprus residence route is appropriate for my nationality and intended activity?

The route depends first on nationality: EU, EEA and Swiss citizens follow different rules from third-country nationals. We then examine the purpose and duration of the stay, employment or business activity, remote or foreign income, family members, accommodation, property or company plans and timing. We do not select a permit from a checklist until these facts are clear.

Does buying property give me Cyprus residence?

No. Property may support accommodation or form the qualifying investment under Regulation 6(2), but ownership alone does not create a residence right.

Can I work remotely on a visitor Pink Slip?

Do not assume so. The visitor category is based on no economic activity in Cyprus. Genuine foreign remote work should be assessed against the Digital Nomad or another appropriate route.

Does a residence permit make me Cyprus tax resident?

No. Immigration residence, tax residence and domicile are separate legal tests.

Can my spouse, partner or children be included?

Possibly, but each route has its own family definition, age and dependency rules, income increases, accommodation and insurance requirements, and civil-status evidence. Regulation 6(2), for example, covers a spouse and minor children and contains separate conditions for certain financially dependent students aged 18 to 25. An adult child or unmarried partner should not be assumed to qualify under the main applicant’s route without a separate review.

Can the application be prepared remotely, and how long will it take?

Much of the route assessment, evidence review, form preparation and certification planning can be handled remotely. Original documents, legalisation, biometrics or personal attendance may still be required, depending on the route and filing stage. The current Regulation 6(2) policy refers to an approximate two-month examination period for a complete application, but this is not a guaranteed decision date and other routes follow different procedures and workloads.

What to send us

Start with a brief, non-confidential outline, the names and countries of the parties, the outcome you need and any deadline. Tell us which documents are available. We will confirm whether we can act, the proposed scope and fees, and how to provide confidential documents securely.

How we organise the team around your matter

A matter is not presented as the work of one person alone. The responsible lawyer leads the legal analysis and decisions, with support from the wider team: Maria, Stella, Spyroulla, Lily, Irene and Nisrin. Chrystalla supports immigration services in Paphos, Katerina supports immigration services in Limassol, and Simos supports services in Limassol and Paralimni. Roles, availability, scope and the person responsible for each step are confirmed for the individual matter.

Being based in Paphos gives clients an established local point of contact. Remote document review and coordinated support allow the firm to assist clients elsewhere in Cyprus and overseas. When in-person attendance, local action or another regulated professional is required, that is identified as part of the plan.

How progress can be measured

We do not promise a legal result that depends on authorities, courts, counterparties or facts outside our control. Progress can instead be measured through practical milestones: instructions and scope confirmed; documents received and reviewed; missing evidence identified; risks and options explained; agreed documents prepared; submissions or transaction steps completed; responses followed up; and the next action recorded.

Where appropriate, the client receives a tailored checklist or action plan so that completed work, outstanding information, external dependencies and upcoming deadlines can be understood.
